An impressive and very well preserved Byzantine seal. Minor marks and corrosion, otherwise, extremely fine.



The 'Eleutherion' was the name of a crown domain likely located somewhere near the capital. A bureau of administrative officials (a 'sekreton') took care of its daily affairs, with a (grand) kourator in charge.
